Blazer was a beloved dog to everyone who knew him.
He was always the welcoming committee when people entered the condo building, became the ladies’ man whenever he met new women and was always the patient one when babies were around. Always the energetic one when it came to being outside (acting like he was still a pup), when he came back inside, he was a calm presence in our house and rarely barked.
He was a smart dog and an emotional support dog for Nancy in the beginning. He was surrendered to the Calgary Humane Society. When we first met, we knew that he would be a great addition to the family. Blazer came with us everywhere to help support Nancy when she had panic attacks or anxiety attacks. He was blessed by priests, but we feel that we were most blessed by him.
In his last days, he tried to be as normal as possible, however his body was giving up. We made the tough decision to stop his pain and suffering. Our last efforts of sleeping with him on the floor and carrying him to the vet in his favourite blanket (having his body next to our hearts), was the greatest gift that we could ever have given him. I hope he can feel how much we loved him.
Blazer (Jacket), you will be forevermore in our thoughts and hearts.
